I am blessed, yes. But life can be hard alongside the blessings. I forget too often that the grace of Jesus is sufficient. So I find myself searching for reminders of this promise, and so often I find these reminders in music.

Thank you Page CXVI.

When darkness veils his lovely face. He's not absent, but at times the crud and crap of this broken world cloud my vision.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest upon unchanging grace;
In ev'ry rough and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When I shall launch in worlds unseen,
O may I then be found in him;
Dressed in his righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

"Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ"
1 Corinthians 3:11

In un-related news: Today is the birthday of my grandmother. She died suddenly 10 years ago last month. What a wonderful and godly woman! She set for her family an example of hard work and devotion. I'm so thankful to have known her, witnessing and experiencing her love for family and friends. I miss that spunky little woman but I know she's rejoicing with our Savior. Praise be to God.

And to this day I still pour the sugar over the sink.
