...that when we do have kids, that their middle-of-the-night screaming will not be met with my middle-of-the-night rage. Will I scream SHUT! UP! NOW! to the crying babe like I do the barking dogs? I sure hope not.

Psalm 40
I waited patiently for the Lord and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay and He set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord.

No, you won't. The first 20 or 30 times you won't even think it, and after that you may groan, but it is very unlikely you'll scream.
Oh, and they're very, very worth it, sleepless nights and all.
