saturday

While there was still a project left to be completed at days end, I LOVE days like this. I woke up early... which isn't out of the ordinary because I wake up early every Saturday... and took Little Man to Pet Smart for his ritual cleansing, hopped back to the house and clean, clean clean and laundry, laundry, laundry.

Project #1: Tackle the former sewing machine brought home from Jordan's Aunt's house so it is worthy of a bedroom table and no longer doomed to our wretched garage. I wish I had a before picture so you could see the random fixture of a ledge that was placed on the lower half of the piece. I also wish you could see the birdseeds(?) that were cleaned off. After cleaning and putting whatever it was we put on the wood top (I can't recall this early...), it turned out ok. I wish I had a picture of the end result but it is kind of pointless as there was not a before. Gosh, there's a lot of wishing going on in this Project.

Project #2: FAILED. Sand and stain the first piece of furniture purchased for our family. It is a way-too-big nightstand from PotBarn that we converted into a TV stand that now is upstairs as an awkward bookcase. I hate the color of this thing so we are going to end my disdain and just do something about it. Sadly, I did jack squat on this project so... upstairs she sits protruding ugliness down on me... and the entire household.

While we were bringing the table out from the garage we found a box of glassware from his grandparents house. I guess we unpacked everything into the garage and I never brought it up. I love glassware... and I especially love this champagne glass. It is sitting in the bathroom holding my brushes and it just looks so lovely!

As we were going about the day we noticed the dogs getting along better. Caroline let Little Man lay on her chair with her. It turned into this great lap that they shared. Here's one of my favorite pictures from their first nap together:
